Nominated to receive the 33rd Degree from New Jersey, to be invested in Washington, DC, in 2007: Joseph H. Rival, Jr. Verdon R. Skipper retired as Deputy for New Jersey, but will remain an Active Member of the Supreme Council. Illustrious John William McNaughton, 33rd, was elected the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. A new 26th Degree was approved and is now official. This new Degree is based on the Gettysburg "Friend to Friend" story where strong Masonic ties exist between Confederate and Union Officers. This is a fine Masonic play with a great message. Look for it this year to be performed by the Valleys in New Jersey. The old 26th Degree, known as the "Lincoln" Degree, will now be available as a public Scottish Rite play, available to be performed as a Lodge program. The Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of Scottish Rite donated $11 Million dollars this past year to the Scottish Rite Charities of the Children's Learning Centers, The National Heritage Museum, Schizophrenia Research and the Abbott Scholarships. New Jersey was well represented in Chicago with a group of 120 attending, including MW Douglas R. Policastro, Grand Master, and his lady Pat. The next Session will be August 26-28 in Washington, DC. This will be an historic Joint Session with the Southern Masonic Jurisdiction. |
